I live on the Wirral and have been crafting for many years doing all kinds from knitting and crochet to my favourite which is cross stitch which I first started after an operation on my back 15 years ago ,but my love for cardmaking started about 5 years ago when I was looking for some wedding invites for my wedding and found that they were either over priced or cheap looking and decided to have a go at making my own - the rest is history. I have been a tutor for around 4 months teaching cardmaking classes and have now started working in a craft shop where they are always holding classes on the Wirral

Im Back

Hello there,
It has been 1 whole year since I last blogged! I can't believe where the time has gone.
I have been busy making loads of cards though and have become a "Stampin Up" rep. Here are some of the cards I have made using their products and if you are interested in any of them you can email me on mariabrooks@talktalk.net and I will get back to you. So for now ,here are some that I made earlier LOL
thanks for looking luv Maria x
I used "Stampin Up" Season of Joy stamp set for this card and masked off the christmas tree to make a mini forest, scored a square card diagonally and made a twisted easal. I used a new punch from Stampin Up for the merry christmas called Decorative Label punch and finished it off with punched snow flakes and crystals.
Yep another easal card but a fun one .I did this for a workshop with my friends Dot and Jeanette and everyone liked it - great male card. the black and white one was also done on that workshop using 3 different stamps and masking off each one . I really enjoyed doing that one.
The card on the left I made using 'Sizzix flower die' and 'Stampin Up' THANKS stamp and decoupaged the 'Thanks'.
The boy in the tree is a Nutcrafters.com and is called Hanging Around - great for kids cards. I embossed the white background and made faux buttons for the front.
I love these two cards .The flower one I did for a Stampin up swap and used a stamp set called 'Bloomin with Beauty and En Francais for the background. Again I masked off the flower and stamped over it .The christening card image is from Lili Of the Valley and I didn't have to do much to it except stamp it in 'Basic Grey (SU) and run around the edges with a 'Quickie glue pen and some glamour dust. I then put the silver edge through my big shot and added pearls to the scalloped edge- so sweet.
